Frequently Asked Questions
Where is NetGenius IT based?
NetGenius IT is based in Uffculme, Devon. We support organisations across Devon and Somerset using a combination of face-to-face visits and secure remote support.
Do you provide on-site IT support?
Yes. We are happy to visit your premises for face-to-face support, troubleshooting, surveys and planned project work. Remote support is also available when it is the quickest or most convenient way to resolve something.
What kinds of organisations do you support?
We work with small and growing businesses, professional services, manufacturers, rural firms, charities and organisations operating from more than one location. The right fit depends on your users, systems, premises and support requirements.
What IT services do you provide?
Our services include managed IT support, Microsoft 365, cloud solutions, cyber security, backup and recovery, networks and Wi-Fi, business VoIP, IT consultancy, web design and hosting, CCTV and infrastructure projects.
What is the difference between fully managed and co-managed IT?
Fully managed IT gives your organisation ongoing support across an agreed environment. Co-managed IT means we work alongside an internal IT person or existing team. In both cases, responsibilities are agreed clearly so nothing important is assumed or overlooked.
Can you help with a one-off project?
Yes. We provide ongoing support as well as defined projects such as Microsoft 365 migrations, network upgrades, VoIP installations, backup improvements, website work and CCTV installations. We confirm the scope, cost and likely timetable before starting.
Can you take over from our current IT provider?
Yes. A controlled handover should cover administrative access, licences, equipment, suppliers, documentation, backups and unresolved problems. We can coordinate that process without assuming everything needs replacing.
Can you manage Microsoft 365?
Yes. We can help with Microsoft 365 setup, migrations, user administration, email, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, licensing, permissions and security settings such as multi-factor authentication.
Can you improve our cyber security and backups?
Yes. We can review accounts, devices, email, patching, endpoint protection, access controls and current backup arrangements. Recommendations are based on your systems and risks; no single product can remove every cyber risk.
Do you supply business phone systems?
Yes. We provide business VoIP services including number porting, geographic numbers, desk phones, mobile and desktop apps, call routing, queues and voicemail-to-email.
What are your support hours and response times?
Support hours, priorities and response targets depend on the service agreement. We set these out clearly before work begins rather than suggesting every client receives the same coverage.
How much does IT support cost?
Cost depends on the number of users, devices, systems and locations, as well as the support and security scope. Ongoing managed support can be priced monthly, while projects are quoted against an agreed scope.
How do we get started?
Tell us what is going wrong, what is changing or what you are worried about. We will discuss the current situation, establish the likely scope and provide a clear proposal before any ongoing commitment.
